People are used to looking up restaurants online. Those interested in trying new restaurants are either staring at a new one and wondering, or they’re seeking out one online. AreaFavs allows small restaurants to connect with potential new customers easily in both ways. We provide a QR tag for restaurants to place on their window or door, to determine if the restaurant someone sees in front of them is one of interest based on their favored dishes. That QR code leads to a site page that offers additional details, which then simultaneously allows them to compete with others in the market. But the truth: ever restaurant has it’s “best of” and that alone allows them to not only compete, but be appreciated AND can bring in the right audience looking for those exact dishes. An easier connection, with easy of use and complete affordability is an great win-win-win combo!
Statistics indicate that the majority of Americans really do appreciate trying new restaurants, but statistics also show us few actually do it. Even though Americans are often taking 2.5 domestic trips a year where they’re immersed in new surroundings, the number of new restaurants they try is close to the same number. Much of the population is tired from either decision fatigue OR “analysis paralysis” where the amount of information thrown at them is overwhelming them, to the poin they just won’t make a decision. Most of us can relate! AreaFavs believes this is what happens when reviews are what people use for decision-making, or there are too many options. For this reason, we allow restaurant “regulars” in the area to indicate their favorites and then the restaurant can showcase photos of those options alone – because we’ve all known since childhood that pictures help.
